Hui QI
I am a curator and cultural project researcher with an interdisciplinary background in Landscape Architecture and Art Gallery and Museum Studies, specialising in the intersection of heritage sites and contemporary art. I graduated from Beijing Forestry University with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture and later obtained a master's degree in art gallery and museum studies from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
I have participated in several significant exhibitions at M WOODS Museum in Beijing, including those featuring RYUICHI SAKAMOTO - Seeing Sound, Hearing Time. Dancing with Xinjiang -Exhibition of The Kizil Grottoes. The British Museum Italian Renaissance Drawings - A Dialogue with China. Man Ray - New York by day, Paris by midnight. gaining extensive experience in roles ranging from curatorial assistant to exhibition execution and public education activities. In 2024, I participated in an exhibition organised by LAC Art Institution in London and the London Design Festival, assisting with exhibition execution and audience engagement, thereby expanding my practice in international art festivals and cross-disciplinary collaborations. I has also participated in the online exhibition planning for the Dutch National Museum and research on contemporary art interventions at the Summer Palace, exploring the dialogue between contemporary art and cultural heritage.
My curatorial focus lies in how contemporary art interacts with cultural heritage and social contexts, and I am committed to establishing more inspiring connections between audiences and art through exhibitions and public projects.
