WANDERER OF THE EARTH
Curated by Xin Liu
A Solo Exhibition by Wei Yixin
11–13 April 2026
17 Rue Chapon, 75003 Paris
Body — Earth — Spirit
Departure. On the Road. Arrival.
From self to the world, from movement to transformation.
Walking is not merely an act of movement,
but a continuous process of becoming.
About the Artist
Wei Yixin (b. 1999, Jiangsu, China) is an artist whose practice begins with walking.
Her work does not originate from images, but from the body moving through landscapes. From the water towns of Jiangnan to the high plateaus, she traverses terrains—observing, recording, and gradually dissolving the boundaries of the self.
For Wei, art is not an act of expression,
but a process of transformation—
a way of becoming part of a larger existence.
Curatorial Framework
Walking as Departure
A leaving of the familiar. A shedding of identity.
Walking as Encounter
A meeting with land, memory, and the unknown.
Walking as Transformation
A slow shift—where body, earth, and spirit begin to merge.
Exhibition Statement
This exhibition unfolds as a journey structured through three phases: Departure, On the Road, and Arrival.
Through walking, the artist engages with the physical world while simultaneously entering an inner landscape. The body becomes both medium and witness—absorbing traces of terrain, time, and memory.
In this process, the boundary between self and environment gradually dissolves. What emerges is not a fixed identity, but a fluid state of being—one that exists between movement and stillness, between الأرض and spirit.
